A six-member a cappella team impressed "It's Showtime" on Tuesday to become the first-ever winner of the program's new section, "Jambunganga."
Street Voice, which is consisting of vocalists from personal categories, conducted a medley of music by the defunct American boy band 'N Sync, such as "Here We Go," "Pop" and "It's Going to Be Me."
The Antipolo-based group scored 9.7 out of 10, beating Manila's Acamitaters, which only got an 8, in the debut edition of Jambunganga.
The new section, which was released last saturday, sets a cappella categories in a competitors fresh musical preparations and the use of voice as personal equipment.
Jambunganga was presented to substitute the lately determined team dancing competition, Bida Kabakarda, with Rizal Underground overall.
The a cappella competition joins other hit segments on "It's Showtime," including the celebrity look-alike contest "Kalokalike" and the impromptu acting show "Sine Mo 'To."
