My Fight Against Ovarian Cancer: The Silent Disease
  • Thu, 12/08/2011 - 23:03

My story begins in June of 2008 when I was diagnosed with Stage 1 Breast Cancer of the right breast.   I discovered my breast cancer while showering and performing a breast self-exam.  My doctor recommended a breast ultrasound followed by a biopsy.  Based on the results of the tests, my doctor performed a lumpectomy to remove the tumor.  This was followed by a series of direct radiation treatments. I received treatments every week day for eight weeks, and I was in and out of the doctor’s office each day in less than fifteen minutes.  It took longer to drive to the office than it did to be treated.
