Pope Benedict XVI has came in Cuba at the begin of a three-day remain - the first papal trip to the isle for 14 years.
The Pope, who travelled in from Cuba , was accepted at the flight terminal by Chief executive Raul Castro as well as army companies and an artillery praise.
The pontiff said he had come as a pilgrim of charitable group, and would hope for serenity, freedom and getting back together.
He also indicated consideration with the "just aspirations" of all Cuban individuals.
In his conversation at the airport, President Castro said socialist Cuba permitted complete independence of belief. He burdened Cuba was established to protect its flexibility in the experience of the US embargo.
There were packed areas of people of Cubans coating the street from the airport, waving little Cuban and Vatican banners as the Popemobile approved, says the BBC's Debbie Rainsford in Havana.
This is a check out the Chapel desires will revitalise the trust, in a communist nation that was basically atheist until two years ago, our reporter contributes.
Before check out, Pope Benedict had recommended Cuba's Marxist framework "no more time goes along to reality" and known as for "new models" of govt to be put in position.
Despite the critique, experts say relations between Church and state have heated in Cuba these days.
Raul Castro has used the Chapel to mediate on concerns such as governmental criminals and financial change, realising its place as the most culturally powerful company outside of the govt in Cuba.
